Greetings everyone,

Below is a text and attached are photos Ron sent me from his cell phone
today. Ron called me during the puppet show for the children and held out
his phone so I could hear the laughter and joy exuding from the crowd of
children.

Ron has become quite attached to the people of Haiti. While they are working
on rebuilding, many of the people make a point to come to talk to him and
the team every day. He got choked up just telling me about the blessing of
helping these people and loving them. I am so fortunate to be married to
such a wonderful man!

We are in Miami with a team of four which will be flying into Port Au Prince Haiti tomorrow, Sunday 2-21. The team will consist of Gary Le Blanc from Mercy Chefs, Ed Chiarelli from Vessel Of Love Ministries, a video/producer from CBN, and myself. We will be traveling to Croix-Des-Bouquets, Port-Au-Prince, Leogane, and onto Jacmel. Mercy Chefs is planning on building a kitchen in Croix-Des-Bouquets as well as a kitchen and bakery in Jacmel. Once in Jacmel we will meet with a team that Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale is flying down Saturday. Ed will be working with CCFL and Dave Bird from CC Chino Hills, to survey the property and inspect water and power options. As of this week the lease has been finalized. We are now committed to the property for 18 months with an additional 18 month lease option.

Stateside more Calvary Chapels are contacting us and asking to become involved. We are gathering up needed resources and making preparations to ship those to CCFL. From there we will have them shipped to Jacmel. CCFL has also rented a house and plans to begin outreach and medical programs as the camp is being readied.

Please pray that God would provide the needed materials to enable us to ready this camp for operations ASAP. A wish list will be posted with items we are asking the Lord to provide. Please join with us in prayer that we might reach the nation of Haiti with the Gospel before it is too late. Haiti is nation with a history of corruption, violence and desperate need. Voodoo is the predominant religion, and the voodoo priests are not at all happy to have Christians on their island. This land is truly a strong-hold of the enemy which has been brought to its’ knees in the wake of this earthquake. Please join with us as we seek to do the impossible; to Save Haiti!

Lord Bless

Today our group split into 3 teams. The medical team spent the day at one of the clinics, where our team’s doctor performed surgery on a woman with a large mass on her neck. Another team assisted the missionaries we are staying with, Cody and Maria, as they passed out food in some of the local villages. Our other team met the Canadian commander in charge of the airbase and leaders of another organization that are co-ordinating logistics among the numerous medical clinics that are overwhelmed at this time. We then met with Frans, the Mayor’s assistant. Frans showed us property that we could use for future operations and gave us a tour of the city, which included a walk around Jacmel’s destroyed hospital. Dozens of patients are being housed in temporary structures there. Some of the structures were nothing more then tarps strung between trees. Later in the day we checked on a remote clinic, which we found to be intact.

The more time we spend here, the larger the problem becomes. The desperate nature of this nation was only exacerbated by this disaster. As this day ends, we are convinced that the only hope for the people of Haiti is Jesus. We are discussing and praying that God would show us how we, as His ambassadors, are to respond to this disaster. Please join us in prayer as we seek God’s wisdom, His heart, and His mind in ths matter.

The drive took us through Port Au Prince and took us almost 10 hours. The level of destruction coupled with the poverty we witnessed through Port Au Prince and out lying areas was beyond description. Although large portions of the city lay ruined, food seems to be making it’s way to the people. Once in Jacmel we contacted members of the Canadian army that had set up a field hospital next to the port. They assured us the port was open and operational. We then met with staff at the Hands and Feet orphanage. They told us that members of their staff were in the city passing out food with the mayor. We visited a soccer stadium which is currently home to over 3500 refugees and attended a meeting hosted by the Red Cross and UN. The meeting was to discus co-ordinating efforts to provide medical attention to the victims. Tomorrow morning I have a meeting, at the airport,
with the medical logistics director to discuss current and projected needs for medical supplies and personal. This is the second trip to Jacmel for one of our team members. On the last trip he met with the mayor’s assistant who offered him a piece of property to use for a base camp. We inspected that property today. It is about 2.5 acres and located just down the road from the airport. We will try and schedule an appointment with the Mayor to determine if this property is still available and see if we are in a position to assist his office, while serving the people of Jacmel. Along with the meetings, one team member, a doctor, will be heading off to assist at one of the hospitals, while other team members will either visit one of the refugee camps or assist ministries that are delivering food. We plan to prayerfully meet with as many officials, ministries and relief organizations as we can prior to the scheduled meeting with the team from CC Ft Lauderale on Thursday.
Please pray for God’s continued safety, His direction, and His hand of protection for our families as we continue to seek His will.

Please pray for our teams safety and the Lord’s leading as we attempt to locate a base for future operations.
